Daily Exchange: Dollar Sells for 18.61 Pesos in Mexico City

MEXICO CITY — At midday, banks in Mexico City are offering the U.S. dollar at a maximum price of 18.61 pesos, representing a rise of four centavos compared to the day’s opening, and purchasing at a minimum of 17.80 pesos.

The Euro rose two centavos thus far, sold at up to 20.62 pesos; while the pound sterling was quoted at 24.73 pesos.

Although the Mexican currency began the day with an advance, its behavior matches projections by analysts at CI Banco, in respect to volatility resulting from the decision of the Central Bank of England; interest rates remain unchanged.
