Daily Exchange: Dollar Retreats, Sold at 18.65 Pesos in Mexico City Banks

MEXICO CITY — Banks in Mexico’s capital city sold the U.S. dollar at up to 18.65 pesos, representing a five-centavo setback from the beginning of trading Wednesday, while the lowest price bought by banks was 17.85 pesos.

The euro lost four centavos, reaching a sale price of 20.98 pesos, and the yen is being offered up at only 0.182 pesos.

Even with the advance of the peso, CI Bank analysts explained that the Mexican currency will remain under pressure by the pending actions of the U.S. Federal Reserve up to the last minutes of the trading day.
