Mexico City banks were selling the dollar at 18.58 pesos at market close Friday, 17 centavos more than on Thursday. Banks purchased the dollar for 17.77 pesos.
The euro gained 15 centavos to close at 20.97 pesos, while the pound and yen were sold for 24.21 pesos and 0.206 pesos, respectively.
Mexico’s Central Bank (Banxico) set the official exchange rate at 18.2674 pesos per dollar.
