Berlin — Banco Santander’s director of international business, Klaus Hübner, told Notimex Monday that he decided to promote Germany to Mexico because it is an attractive location for investment.

The director gave an exclusive interview with Notimex in Stuttgart, during “The Conference on Mexico,” Monday, organized jointly by the international banking institution, the Embassy of Mexico in Germany, ProMéxico, and the Chamber of Mexican-German Trade and Industry (Camexa).

For Mexico and Germany, 2016 is the special Mexico-Germany Year of Cooperation, which will be formally inaugurated in April with the emphasis of improving foreign relations between the two countries.

Hübner said that while Monday’s event was given special importance to the opportunities that Mexico provides for investment in the automotive sector, the bank has identified other Mexican industries to promote in Germany as well.

Banco Santander offers the possibility of cooperation between German and Mexican entrepreneurs in the automotive sector because it is willing to participate as a bank in the realization of this type of German investments in Mexico, Hübner added.
