According to the ENOE, the number of people without jobs has not changed

The number of people unemployed in Jan. 2016 stayed that same as in the previous year, with 4.3 percent of the Active Economic Population (AEP) without jobs, one of the lowest percentages in the last few years.

According to the National Occupation and Employment Survey (ENOE), the unemployment rate registered at the same as that of last December, and decreased 0.1 percent compared to last year.

According to the National Statistics and Geography Institute (INEGI), informal work increased 0.6 percent annually, and in comparison with December increased 0.4 percent. A total of 58.1 percent of the Mexican work force work in this sector.

Informal work includes micro-business workers who are self employed in the agricultural sector and workers who do not have the protection of social security and whose services are used by registered economic departments.
