TOLUCA – The Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) organized a visit with Maximiliano Alonso, general director of Conexx-Europe Research and Development International Cooperation, in an effort to push for cooperation with the European Union in scientific research and development.

Conexx-Europe is a nonprofit organization based in Brussels, Belgium. Its mission is to create, sustain and increase cooperation between the EU and Latin America. During his stay, Alonso met with investigators and authorities of the International Cooperation Secretariat at UAEM’s Rectory Building.

University authorities highlighted their efforts to advance UAEM’s internationalization and the mobility of teachers and students, as well as the school’s visibility and positioning in the EU. They also posed the possibility of joint projects and the signing of a General Agreement for Collaboration, which would produce new jobs.

Alonso, a member of the executive committee at UNESCO’s International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean, invited the university to join in the activities that Conexx-Europa will host to promote social responsibility.
