Saturday afternoon personnel from the State of Mexico Attorney General’s Office (PJGEM) announced the whereabouts of missing Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) Nursing and Obstetrics student, Paola López Esquivel, who was reported missing May 3.

UAEM Rector Jorge Olvera García announced on social media that the student had been found, as reported by the ministerial police, and that she was in perfect health.

“We feared for her wellbeing. Today, thanks to efforts by the State of Mexico ministerial police, she was found alive and will soon be reunited with her family, who in their worry turned to university and state authorities.”

Olvera García recognized the work of authorities for their quick response and the efficient search efforts to find twenty-year-old Paola’s whereabouts. He said that the collective efforts and society’s commitment showed that when actions are carried out professionally and with commitment, optimal results can be reached.

Jorge Olvera García reiterated his support and unconditional backing of state authorities and Paola López Esquivel’s family.
