Quintana Roo Gov. Roberto Borge Angulo announced that the construction of the Network for Fire Command Centers in nine municipalities of the state was completed thanks to the support of President Enrique Peña Nieto and an investment of 44.2 million pesos ($2.4 million).

The nine command centers are located in the municipalities of Benito Juárez, Cozumel, Bacalar, Lázaro Cárdenas, Tulum, José María Morelos, Othón P. Blanco, Isla Mujeres and Felipe Carrillo Puerto and will benefit more that 1 million state citizens.

Fernando Escamilla Carrillo, head of the state Infrastructure and Transportation Secretariat, said that the fire command centers feature two floors with all the services needed to ensure the comfort and safety of firefighters during their workday and are also equipped to provide assistance to the population in the case of an emergency.

“We have fulfilled another commitment made by my administration. The physical integrity of our people and visitors is paramount,” said Borge Angulo.
