Peña Nieto Orders PGR to Investigate Oaxaca Conflict

Peña Nieto instructed the Health Secretariat to aid the Oaxaca government in attending to those injured in the incident

MEXICO CITY — President Enrique Peña Nieto lamented the death of several people in Nochixtlán, Oaxaca, Sunday. He also gave instructions for the necessary actions to be taken in order to solve the problem in the state.

On his official Twitter account, he expressed his solidarity with the family members of the people who lost their lives during the acts of violence which occurred Sunday.

In a later message, Peña Nieto announced that the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) will provide support to the State Prosecutor’s Office during the investigation of the crimes and the punishment of those responsible.

Additionally, Peña Nieto instructed the Health Secretariat to aid the Oaxaca government in attending to those injured in the incident.
