While Carolina Monroy remains as General Secretary, Ochoa Reza made Héctor Gómez Barraza head of Political Operations. He named Arturo Zamora Organization Secretary and Jorge Carlos Ramirez Marin PRI Representative to the National Electoral Institute (INE). He also created the Northern Border Secretariat, in coordination with the Senate and Chamber of Deputies.
