Murat Hinojosa Takes Office as Oaxaca Governor

After being sworn in on the floor of Congress, Murat Hinojosa thanked legislators from all parties, as well as governors and other guests, for witnessing the ceremony

Alejandro Murat Hinojosa took office as governor of Oaxaca at a Oaxaca public radio office Thursday. He will serve until 2022.

After being sworn in on the floor of Congress, Murat Hinojosa thanked legislators from all parties, as well as governors and other guests, for witnessing the ceremony.

The governors of Campeche and Yucatán, Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas and Rolando Zapata Bello, the Senate president Pablo Escudero Morales, Senators Emilio Gamboa Patrón, Roberto Gil Zuarth and Eviel Pérez Magaña, as well as former Oaxaca Governors Oaxaca Heladio Ramírez López and José Murat Casab attended the ceremony.

After the ceremony, Murat Hinojosa said that he would immediately start working to improve Oaxaca.
