Intense rain has caused damages in the Cuajimalpa and Miguel Hidalgo boroughs of Mexico City. Nearly 40 homes are flooded in the Cuajimalpa borough and the La Coyotera river overflowed in the State of Mexico’s Huixquilucan municipality, damaging 14 homes and flooding the Hospital Ángeles’ parking lot.

The Mexico City-Toluca highway was affected by severe traffic jams.

Civil Protection said that the Bosques de las Lomas, Memetla, La Navidad, Huzachito and San José de los Cedros neighborhoods were the most affected, along with the Santa Fe and Vasco de Quiroga areas.

Huixquilucan Mayor Enrique Vargas del Villar said that at least 14 homes were affected. Citizens posted photos showing the damage caused by the rain on different social networks.
