Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto acknowledged that there is indeed a widespread problem of corruption in the country.

During an interview with journalist Joaquín López Dóriga, Peña Nieto said that his administration has fought against corruption and that it is an issue that is “neither evaded nor denied.”

The president said that he is working for the good of Mexico. Also, regarding the ongoing conflict with the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE), Peña Nieto said that the education reform is still in the process of being approved.
