Federal Judge Vicente Antonio Bermúdez Zacarías was murdered on Tuesday in Metepec, State of Mexico

MEXICO CITY — The Federal Judiciary Council (CJF) issued a report on facts before the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) and the Comptroller General Office of the State Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (PGJEM) due to the video leak of the murder of federal Judge Vicente Antonio Bermúdez Zacarías.

The CJF stated that the disclosure of this evidence breaches the secrecy of the on going investigation of the murder of Judge Bermúdez Zacarías which, in turn, is a result of illicit behavior on behalf of public servants in charge of safekeeping the investigation dossiers.

The CJF requested an investigation to find the origin of the leak as well as the people responsible for it. Not only does the leak compromise the effectiveness of the evidence but it also affects the privacy of the judge’s widow and children.

Judge Bermúdez Zacarías was responsible for revoking the repeal of extradition of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán Loera.
