CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, 23FEBRERO2016.- Mario Patrón, director del Centro de Derechos Humanos Centro Prodh; Misael Zamora, hijo de Ildefonso Zamora; Rosario Zamora, hija de Ildefonso Zamora; Héctor Magallón, director de participación de Greenpeace México, y Alejandro Ramírez, representante de la comunidad de San Juan Atzingo, durante la conferencia de prensa en la cual exigieron la libertad del defensor ambiental Ildefonso Zamora, quien fue detenido arbitrariamente el 20 de noviembre de 2015 acusado de robo. En la conferencia se precisó el que defensor se encontraba en otro lado el día que señala el ministerio público de Tenancingo cometió el delito, señalaron que su detención es mediante un proceso arbitrario y más bien se debe a su defensa de los bosques del Estado de México contra la tala clandestina. MEXICO CITY — A court in Mexico has freed a longtime anti-logging activist whose arrest was criticized by human rights groups.

Ildefonso Zamora was detained in late 2015 on burglary charges. The court dismissed the case and he was released late Friday.Amnesty International said in a statement that Zamora's arrest was "part of a series of threats and harassment in relation to his anti-logging campaign."Zamora has fought illegal logging in the mountains south of Mexico City for more than a decade.In a 2007 attack, assailants killed his 21-year-old son Aldo and wounded another son, 16-year-old Misael.Zamora had received threats before the attack and has said he believes residents associated with the logging were responsible.
