After an event than allocated funds to the indigenous community, the president invited young Yucateca Fátima Chay Chi to Mexico City on the presidential plane. The president and his wife Angélica Rivera then received the young person in their official residence in Los Pinos.

Fátima Chay commented to the president that she had never been to Mexico City, had never traveled in an airplane, and signaled her desire to see the official residence of the First Family. She also told him about her intention to study civil engineering, and her aspiration to one day be the municipal president of Maxcanú, governor of Yucatán and “why not, the President of the Republic.”

At the end of the event, President Peña Nieto invited Fátima to travel with him back to Mexico City with her friend Laigxa Canul, and from the Director of the House of the Indigenous Child, “Cecilio Chi” of Maxcanú, Yucatán, Leticia Cuevas Ojeda. The three boarded a helicopter that took them to the Merida airport. There, they got on the presidential plane and traveled to Mexico City.

Upon arriving at the capital, the three boarded a helicopter with the president that took them to his official residence.

In the presidential house, Señora Angélica Rivera de Peña welcomed the three guests, and spoke with them for several minutes.

The head of the executive branch of government gave them a tour of the property. On the tour, Fátima, Laigxa and Director Leticia were accompanied by “Koa”, the pet dog of Paulina Peña Pretelini, daughter of the president.
