Various businesses in Oaxaca are on a 24-hour strike to protest losses caused by the education conflict

Deputies affiliated with the Revolutionary Institutional Party (PRI) asked Oaxacan authorities to begin a dialogue with chambers of commerce who are on strike to protest losses caused by roadblocks maintained by the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE).

PRI Deputy Mariana Benítez Tiburcio said that the requests for support by the businesses, who have lost millions of pesos due to the roadblocks, are legitimate.

She said that the government may offer low-interest loans and other fiscal incentives to resolve the conflict with the businesses.
