On Wednesday, the dollar continued its pattern of decline that started last Friday, closing at 18.70 pesos, five centavos less than on Tuesday. The dollar was purchased for 17.86 pesos.

The euro was sold at 20.83 pesos, a six-centavo decline from the day before, while the pound and yen closed at 24.25 pesos and 0.199 pesos, respectively.

The official exchange rate, set by Mexico’s Central Bank (Banxico) is 18.3479 pesos per dollar.

Analysts from CI Banco, a Mexican bank specializing in currency services, told a Mexican news agency that they expect the dollar to continue to lose value.
