The dollar lost seven centavos Thursday to close at a selling price of 18.41 pesos at Mexico City banks. The dollar was purchased for 17.61 pesos.
The euro gained three centavos to close at 20.82, while the yen and pound were sold at 0.199 pesos and 24.12 pesos, respectively.
Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) set the official exchange rate at 18.0832 pesos per dollar.
Analysts from CI Bank told a Mexican news agency that currencies of emerging economies all over the world are gaining ground against the dollar, related to the U.S. Federal Reserve’s decision not to raise interest rates.
