The dollar dropped 13 centavos to close at a selling price of 18.30 pesos at Mexico City currency exchanges. Banks purchased the dollar for a minimum of 16.80 pesos.
Mexico’s Central Bank, Banxico, set the exchange rate at 17.9343 pesos.
According to analysts at Ci Banco, the United States’ Federal Reserve (Fed) raised its funding rate by 25 basis points to 1.25 percent with an expectation of a further increase in the year.
